A Postmodern-Expressionists Interpretation of the Hardship of Eating Pasta

Saturday 21 March 2009

People i ask you once again, are you ready to be amazed?
If so step into the world of Phil eating pasta, with a guest appearance from Tom McGurk.
It may appear just to be a man eating pasta, but what you fail to realise is that this is just a superficial face to the everyday torments this man encounters.

A Commentary by Iain Dawson
"Considering this new work of art, we see a white-shirted everyman, repeatedly taking large mouthfuls of pasta from a seemingly endless, plain container; when combined with the cyclical nature of the accompanying music, this sympathetic figure, emerges as another relatable everyman, one who is stuck in an endless routine, eating plain pasta from a plain carton.

The intervention of our original protagonist mid-way through, serves as a juxtaposition which underlines this metaphor. In his appearance, he is still unable to take the chance and grasp the cup, restraining himself due to those same unknown doubts and fears.

Both of them are struck by different circumstance, but both of them share in the same flawed human existence."
